Mamashabella@MSB is now on the Blog...here and there

MSB is back….

It’s been quite sometimes my blog has not been updated. Since then, so many things happening in my life, the good and the bad news….well life is like that. Today you feel good but the next day you feel miserable, awful…that’s the way life is… But above all, be grateful and thankful to God for his constant blessings. Things happen for a reason; at times we have to be ready expecting the unexpected. Life has so many surprises.
Just a week after Gawai holiday, I was shocked by news that my beloved cousin-in-law, William Rahman passed away on 10th June 2010 leaving behind a widow, 5 children and 2 grand daughters. He was a great man, his children referred to him as legend. He was a good singer and quite popular among friends and relatives for his generosity and kindness. He died of renal failure, had been suffering from diabetes and on dialysis treatment, 3 times a week at Kuala Belait Dialysis Centre.
My daughter, Shasha is now settled at UPM Serdang doing her 1st year degree in Forestry Science. I am glad she gets along well with her course and most of all the environments at UPM. The only complaint I got from her was the food, it is quite expensive. For one meal, she has to pay between RM7- RM10. For 2 meals a day, estimated at RM15 X 30 days = RM450.00. Every month I have to fork out RM530 for Shasha that includes reload celcom airtime, RM30/month. My darling hubby went to accompany Shasha for the registration on 4th July 2010. They went off to KL on 3rd July 2010 took the morning flight. Too bad I couldn’t come along as I had to go to Bali with my sister in law from 5th to 9th July 2010 for a vacation. My trip was already planned in advance so I had no reason to cancel it.
Talking about my Bali trip, it was so much fun. Sorry I didn’t take pictures as I didn’t bring my camera along. Shasha brought the camera with her incase she needed it for her courses since they have to go outdoor and to the jungle which was required for her course. We took the morning flight on 5th July to KL. Arrived in KL, my hubby was already waiting for me at the arrival hall. We spent our lunchtime together at McDonald. He had to catch his flight back to Miri at 3.00pm and I had to catch flight to Bali at 3.50pm.
Flight to Bali was smooth. It was 3 hours flight and we reached Bali Airport at 6.45pm. The hotel arranged for pick up service at the airport and transferred us to our hotel. After the registration at the counter, we went to our room, dropped our bag and off we went for shopping at Discovery mall just 5 minutes from our Hotel in Kuta district. In Bali, we don’t have to worry about anything. No one will disturb or harassed you even you walk alone in the street. Coincidently it was World Cup semi finals and most of the lounges opened their premise until 5.ooam in the morning and screened live match telecast and these certainly attracted tourists.
Next morning, we arranged for a day tour with our hotel. We visited the largest temple at Besakih. About 90% of the population in Bali comprise of Hinduism, the remaining 10%, Islam and Christian. The journey to Besakih took 2 hours, along the way; we experienced beautiful scenery of the terraced padi field and mountain. The tour cost us 400,000 rupiahs, equivalent to RM145. The tour started at 9.00am until 9.00pm. As it was chauffeured driven, we just tell the driver to take you to the destination that you like. Very flexible and no rush unlike the one operated by tour bus.
In Bali you can find shopping malls, Matahari, Carefour, and many more…. and outlets selling branded goods. These were meant for tourist as they have bigger spending power; unlike us we prefer the budget shopping. But if you want to go for budget shopping, then head to Market centre at Kuta Square. There you can use whatever bargaining skills you have and if you are lucky, you can get those items at really cheap price. One piece of “paro batik sarong” for beachwear cost about RM8. Cheap right? Many choice and colors to choose from. Funny thing, the Indon at Bali really knows how to speak English, even the older men and women. I smiled when I think of it. Maybe their tourism ministry arranged for a special course for these traders as Bali is well known for tourist destination.
The thing that I enjoyed doing at Bali was the spa treatment. Imagine, 2nd day, went for massage, 3rd day also massage and the final night, we went for 3-hours spa package including seafood dinner at Jimbaran. It was superb! The price for massage was around 45,000 to 55,000 rupiah equivalent to RM16 to RM17.00 for one hour. I really pampered myself and I did the pedicure and French manicure too which only cost me 45,000 rupiahs.
Another thing, for food lovers,,,you will love the food. They served oriental, traditional, Indian, Japanese, Korean cuisine,etc... Pick your choice!!!! But for me, I went for their traditional cuisine. Food was cheap, starting from 13,000 rupiah to 75,000 rupiahs. Beer was cheap too a bottle cost about 18,000 rupiah (equivalent to RM7.00)
I would certainly go for next visit to Bali if God’s willing. However next year I will be going to Bandung for one week. Already booked my return ticket ( MYY-KUL-BDO) and it only cost me RM162.00 nett including 25-kg advance purchase luggage. Wink.wink ****. From what I heard from my friend who had been there, Bandung is a good place for shopping. I can’t wait to be there….

Another breaking news…..hubby lost 6 kg, Bella lost 5 kg in total….how they managed it??
To me losing weight is a battle. I was never serious in losing weight, if today I lost 1 kg, but next week I will put back the 1 kg…sound familiar right? I just love food. .But I too make sure I will not go too much overweight as this will lead to much health complication….That is why I enrolled for my cardio class for one hour three times a week. Still eating normal meal but no rice in the evening.
At first it was hard for my hubby and Bella to start cutting down rice as they will scoop more rice if the food was right for their taste bud. However, I told my hubby and Bella that they can eat their normal meal but with less rice. Early in the morning, I would cook rice and prepare food for them before leaving for work and school. In the afternoon, hubby would consume oatmeal and drink plenty of water. In the evening, he will take soup and vegetables ONLY. Because of change in this eating habit, Albert managed to shed 6 kilos, and my daughter lost 5 kg. Sound great, right? He was pleased with the result and is more determined to lose some more weight until he gets down to 62kg. He has another 9 more kg to lose. As for Bella, she will have to lose another 5 more kilos. I will continue to monitor their progress. To me seeing them losing weight is simply amazing and I am so glad they can make it..
